Our gracious God

A verse that really stood out to me in the book of Isaiah is "Yet the Lord LONGS to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for Him." 30:18
God longs to show you compassion, in other words, He has an earnest desire or yearns to show you compassion. Gracious is being merciful and compassionate. That is our God! He showed us this grace when He sent His one and only Son to die for us, in our place, to take away all of our sin and shame. "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding." Ephesians 1:7 "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:7 Read that verse again, and meditate on it...by His grace, we are seated with Him in the heavens. "The incomparable riches of His grace," Grace is defined as divine love and protection bestowed freely on people. God's marvelous grace is part of who He is and He gives this grace freely, to whomever will accept it. Grace is a gift-there is nothing you can do to earn it. There is nothing you have done or ever will do that will keep you from God's grace. "How gracious He will be when you cry for help! As soon as He hears, He will answer you." Isaiah 30:19 God, however, does not force Himself in, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with Me." Revelation 3:20 He so lovingly and tenderly waits for us to open the door of our heart and let Him in. His voice is one that can be felt deep within it's almost unexplainable. His voice is more of a still, small voice. He doesn't shout, although He could. To hear His voice, quiet yourself before Him and tune everything that's going on in your life out. He so patiently waits for us to come to Him. Each of us must make a choice. God does not send anyone to hell. Hell was created for satan and his demons. God desires everyone to be saved. We are the ones who ultimately make the choice to reign with Him or to go to hell. It is up to us. In Deuteronomy, He tells us "now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your life and He will give you many years in the land He swore to give your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." 30:19-20 All of God's promises are yours and mine. He is the same yesterday, today and forever! God is saying to you today, "Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." Psalm 91:14-16 Call out to Him today, He is waiting.
