A place prepared for us

Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." John 14: 2-4 I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to see what heaven is like! Our little minds really cannot comprehend how glorious and beautiful heaven will be and the best part is---we will see Jesus face to face and worship Him. When I look around at the beauty of nature-the sunrise and sunset, the ocean and how the waves break across the surface, the flowers, trees, animals, the stars in the sky...I could go on and on, I think how magnificent a Creator we have! And He spoke our world into existence, with His breath. That is just amazing to me, and to think, He wants share all of this with us...I can only imagine what heaven will be like-no more sin, no more suffering, no more death,no more pain, no more disease (Rev 21: 4)and our earthly bodies will be transformed! Paul tells us he "was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell." 2 Cor 12: 4 The most beautiful things we see here on earth are nothing in comparison to what we will see in heaven. God loves us so much and desires fellowship with us. It's not about going to church on Sundays, singing in the choir, doing charitable deeds, giving to the poor, while these are all good things in themselves, doing them will not get you into heaven. It is only by faith and trust in Jesus Christ-King of Kings and Lord of Lords, knowing and believing that He is THE way THE truth and THE life. Apart from Him, we are dead in our sins and trespasses. He came to take our sin. He was the sinless, spotless Lamb. A preacher or priest cannot take your sins away, nor can doing good deeds or praying a prayer. It is SOLELY based on Jesus and His finished work at the cross. The Bible says "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16. Notice the emphasis on the words "so" and "believes". It isn't enough to believe in your head that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, this truth has to penetrate your heart and into your being. The word "believes" in the Greek means to put your life upon. This means to trust Him with everything...to put Him above everything (that includes spouse, parents, children, friends, habits.....everything!) The demons even believe and actually tremble...satan knows scripture-he distorts it however because he is the master of deception and lies. God has made the way through Jesus and He does not want anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance and the knowledge of Him. He loves you so much and this love is everlasting. God is not a man that He could lie. His words are truth, He is truth, He is the One and Only, He is the great "I Am", He is the Alpha and the Omega-the beginning and the end. He is merciful and powerful. Cry out to Him today and ask Him to come in to your heart-He will never disappoint you.....heaven is waiting!
