Be faithful where you are at
As followers of Christ, we have a ministry. First and foremost, it is to share Jesus with others and live our lives in such a way that points to God giving Him all of the glory. You may think, "well, I am just one person, what can I do?" You have a certain sphere of influence that only you can reach. This influence is in your workplace, your circle of friends and your family. Whether you know it or not, people are watching your life, not necessarily what you say. They are watching you in difficult circumstances, in decisions you make and how you respond to situations. Your actions can influence people to choose Christ or not. Paul speaks to the Corinthians years ago, but the same is true for us today, "I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth." 1 Corinthians 3:6 You may plant a seed of kindness, forgiveness or love into someone's life causing this person to see the love of Christ in you. It is about being faithful right where you are. You may not have a huge platform to stand on, be a well-known speaker, have written a book or be a pastor of a church, but God can use you and He will if you allow Him too. Keep seeking His wisdom and direction, and He will guide your steps. All of the great patriarchs of the Bible were not great, well-known famous people. They were ordinary people just like you and me. When God chose you, He knew exactly what He was getting and He also knew the great things you are going to do for Him. "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 God created you and me for a purpose here in this life. If not, He could have taken us to heaven the moment we were saved by His grace. The fact is, you and me are still here for a reason. In Jeremiah, God says, "I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." 29:11 There are many that are in need. As you seek God and His plan for your life, He will put people on your heart that He wants you to minister to. It could be to simply listen and be there for someone, it could be to help them out financially or to give food or clothing to, it could be to encourage, to show love when they feel unlovable or to give them grace and forgiveness. When you reach out to someone, there is always a blessing attached. You will feel so much joy and satisfaction. That's why the Bible says it is more blessed to give than to receive.God will always make a way. "And God IS ABLE to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an ABUNDANCE for every good deed." 2 Corinthians 9:8 You are important and you have a purpose. You matter to God.Be a blessing to someone today! "Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!" 2 Thessalonians 3:16
