He is your hope

In Job, we read the words, "Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him...Job goes on to say, "indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance." 13:15-16 You may be facing a very difficult situation and you wonder how will I ever make it through? The answer is to place your hope in God, not in the circumstances. Hope is defined "as to wish for something with expectation. A desire accompanied by a confident expectation." This hope is found in God and God alone. He holds the universe in His hands. He is sovereign or has supreme power. He has foreknowledge, or knowing something before it occurs. If He is in complete control, which He indeed is, He controls every circumstance. In these times where we do not understand, or are suffering or in pain, we must hope in God and know that as His child, He will work it all out for our good in His time. This hope must be unwavering and based on the character of God, not on people or circumstances. This hope is an anchor for your soul. Hebrews 6:19 As we hope in the Lord, we will renew our strength. Isaiah 40:31 Hope comes from reading His word continuously, whether you feel like it or not. Many times, you will never "feel" like reading His word or you may make excuses as to why you don't have time to get in His word but friend, if you don't, you will struggle or you will try to put confidence in the flesh and this will never work out.We are going to have trouble. Jesus clearly tells us this in John, "in this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 This is not a matter of "if" we have trouble, but "when" we have trouble. Prepare yourself-praying and reading His word, so when that time of trouble comes, you can stand and you can know that God is right there in the midst of it all, teaching you, guiding you and comforting you. God uses situations to draw us to Him. He also uses them to strengthen our faith and grow us spiritually. As we go through trials, we need to ask Him what He is trying to teach us. You will learn and grow more in a trial then you will when things are going well as you keep your eyes on Him. Just as Jesus calmed the storm that was raging when the disciples were in the boat, He will calm the storm in your life...He had even told the disciples beforehand that they would go over to the other side.He wants you to trust and have faith in Him and don't doubt in your heart. Like the psalmist, we put our hope in God's word. His word is true, it is right...."God is not a man that He should lie." Numbers 23:19 His word is for us to live by. He shows us this in Deuteronomy, "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord." 8:3 My prayer is for people to really dig into God's word for themselves, and not rely on what others say. As you continue in His word, you will be transformed. This transformation is inevitable and is part of the growing process. You will begin to view life differently, view people differently and view your trials differently.. as they all relate to God. Our hope is based in Christ alone. This hope never fails, always trusts, sees the best in others and perseveres under the worst of conditions because we know Jesus is with us every step of the way and that this life is not all there is. One day we will see our Savior face to face. We will get to bow at His feet and be in His beautiful presence forever. Hold on to this hope in Christ....He is coming!
