The beauty of God is everywhere
Monday as Darren and I were leaving the Dash game, we looked up and saw this beautiful rainbow. My first thought was thank you Lord, that You displayed a portion of Your glory and majesty for us to see. The Lord said,"I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember My covenant between Me and you and all living creatures of every kind." Genesis 9:13-14 What an awesome promise for you and for me. A covenant is a formal binding agreement...this covenant is forever. All we have to do is look around us at the beauty of nature and see all that our Creator has done. God said "let the land produce vegetation; seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it according to their various kinds. And it was so....He created everything for us to enjoy. I know that what we can see is only a small portion of all there is. Not too long ago, I watched "Indescribable" by Louie Giglio. If you have not seen it yet, it is awesome. There are tons of galaxies out there that we don't even know of. The Hubble captured images of galaxies millions of miles away. When you see the earth and how small it is in comparison to space...you realize how small you really are and how BIG God really is. We tend to put God in a box and focus only on what we see. God is majestic and mighty and awesome and He wants to show us just how big He really is as we go through life. We were created by Him and for Him. We were made to glorify Him. In 2nd Corinthians, we read "and we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 3:18
Before we came to know the Lord, we also had a "veiled" face...we were spiritually blind, but as He so graciously removes the veil from our eyes, we begin to see with our spiritual eyes and everything becomes new. As the Lord transforms us into His likeness, we begin to shine so brightly in this dark world to those who still have the veil over their eyes. God is beautiful. He is perfect and powerful. He is majestic. I stand amazed yet humbled in His presence, to think that He had you and me in mind when He created the heavens and the earth. The King of Kings chose to humble Himself and willingly laid down His life for you and for me, so that we could be restored back to Him and have a relationship with Him. A relationship that will last for all eternity. I am sure that the beauty we see around us cannot compare to what we will one day see in heaven...first and foremost, we will get to see Jesus face to face. "No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city and His servants will serve Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever." Revelation 22:3-5 What a glorious day...WORTHY IS THE LAMB WHO WAS SLAIN! He is the "Alpha and Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8
