Are you living the life you were called to live?
Are you living the life you were called to live? I am not talking about a particular career or hobby, I am talking about the life God prepared beforehand for you to walk in. "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10 You and I have a purpose in this life. This purpose does not include gratifying our selfish desires. God has a unique purpose and a plan for you and me. We have a certain sphere of influence that only we can reach. It may be at your workplace, the gym, your group of friends, your family or your social club. There are people in your life that I cannot reach, but you can. We are called to be set apart-to be holy as Jesus is holy. This means doing the right thing when no one else around you is. It means standing up for your faith in Jesus when people are mocking you. It means walking in integrity-even when no one is looking. It means being bold for the cause of Christ. It means walking by faith, not by sight...not relying on your feelings, but on the One True God who is faithful and just in all His ways. This is not easy. There will be times you get discouraged or tired and want to give up. It is in those times you need to cry out to God and tell Him how you feel-yes, He already knows, but He wants to help you and show you just how mighty and powerful He is. He wants to show you that He is all you will ever need. There will be times you feel all alone, but you are never alone. God has promised that He will never leave you or forsake you. We need to stop putting God in a box and thinking that He is like us. He is the creator of the universe and the heavens. He spoke and it came to be. He is all mighty and all powerful and as a follower of Christ, He has placed His Spirit in you, to help you live the life you were called to live. You are no longer controlled by the sinful nature, but by His Spirit. Romans 8:9 What exactly does this mean for you and for me? For starters, our life is no longer our own. We have been bought with a price. Being controlled by the Spirit is walking in love, it is forgiving because Jesus forgave us, it is living a life that is pleasing to Him, it is putting others before ourselves, it is letting the Lord have total control knowing that no matter what happens in this life, we can trust Him and know that He is preparing a place for us. One day we are going to have to give an account for everything that we have done. As a believer, this is the judgment seat of Christ. This has nothing to do with your salvation, but is based on what you have done for the kingdom with your life. It is no longer living to please ourselves and what our flesh wants, rather, it is living to please your Father. It is your will conforming to His will. Your flesh will war against this....our nature is to think only of ourselves, but the Spirit living inside of you will give you the power to break free from this mindset. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed....this is freedom from the law of sin and death...this is freedom from wrong thinking and it is freedom from the things that once held you captive whether it is anger, deception, selfishness, lack of self-discipline, judgmental attitudes, pride, an addiction and religion. Yes, religion. Religion is merely about following rules and regulations, but is not necessarily based on a relationship with Jesus. Religious people may go to church, read the Bible and do good works, but this is based on what they are doing, not what Jesus has done for them and the relationship with Him. We have such an intimate God who loves you more than you can imagine and wants to walk with you daily and grow you in Him.You will find true joy and peace in His presence no matter what is going on around you. He will show you the way you should go. "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying 'This is the way, walk in it." Isaiah 30:21 Ask Him to help you live the life you were called to live. He promises that if you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him. Jeremiah 29:13 Make a difference for His kingdom...starting now!
