He is worthy of all praise!
I was listening to a song that really stirred my heart today. The song was "Christ is Lifted Up." Some of the lyrics are as follows:
Crown of thorns, sacred brow
Nail-pierced hands reaching out
Redeeming blood
No greater love
That You would choose to lose Your life
Crucified, a sacrifice
I'm overcome
Christ is lifted up, and I bow down
Precious Lamb for sinners slain
The wrath of God sees all my shame
I take the cup and I'm undone
The Father's face turns away
The reason why is it my name?
It's all too much
Christ is lifted up, and I bow down
As I played the song over and over again, I really was overcome, that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords chose to leave His throne and come down to earth for you and for me. The only thing we can say is thank you, but we can do much for Jesus with our lives. And that is to live a life that is pleasing to Him and one that will bring Him glory. No, our salvation is not based on our works. Salvation is solely dependent on the redeeming blood of Christ. There is nothing we can do to add or take away from that, however, God tells us to be holy as He is holy.(1 Peter 1:16) What does that mean? It means to be self-controlled, pure (in our thoughts and actions), saying "no" to ungodliness and worldly passions and being eager to do good. (Titus 2:11-14)
Jesus is worthy of all of our praise! He is our loving, faithful, true, sinless, and merciful redeemer. He holds all of our days in His hands-He holds all things together! Everything was created by Him and for Him! Colossians 1:16-17 God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Jesus in order to reconcile man to Himself through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20 Once you are saved by the blood of Christ, you are holy in God's sight, without blemish and free from accusation. Colossians 1:23 It is then that God sees you through the blood of Christ. You are made new and God continues to grow you in Him little by little as you seek His face, read His word and fellowship with other believers.
You and I can praise Him when we sing songs of worship to Him, talk with others about His goodness, lift up our hands to Him, fall on our faces before Him and yes, praise Him when we are going through struggles and difficult times. No matter what we go through, God IS always GOOD, He is always loving and He is faithful and trustworthy.
"Sing to God, sing praise to His name, extol Him who rides on the clouds-His name is the Lord-and rejoice before Him." Psalm 68:4
"I will praise You, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of You among the peoples. For GREAT is Your love, reaching to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth." Psalm 57:9-11
What a mighty God we serve! So beautiful, so wonderful, so awesome! "I will praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good." Psalm 54:6
"Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." Psalm 42:11
Take a moment to praise God and to thank Him for His unfailing love and mercy that He richly poured out on everyone through His precious Son Jesus! Jesus died once for all who will receive Him. The choice is yours. God will never force Himself on you, He gives you free will....call upon His name today!
"And everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Joel 2:35 Also in Romans 10:13, "Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved."
Be blessed my friend!
