Are you ready?

     I was reading in the book of Ecclesiastes and this verse struck me...."Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come." 9:12 We need to live as though today could be our last day. It is a gift from God that we woke up this morning. God is the one who puts the breath in our lungs. One of the many tricks of satan is that he deceives us into thinking we have plenty of time or that one day we can get saved. Friend, that time is now, for we are not promised tomorrow. It is so easy to get caught up in the things of life-whether it is work, family or a hobby. As a Christ follower, you must understand that you are in a constant battle...a battle between your flesh and the Spirit. The Spirit living in you wants to do the things which please God, but your flesh wants its own selfish desires. If we are not careful, and staying in God's word and surrounding ourselves with other believers, we can very easily fall. Sin is a part of every one of us-there is no one righteous apart from Christ. That's why we are to take up our cross daily and follow after Jesus. What does that mean exactly? We are to die to ourselves-that is all of our selfish desires, impure thoughts, wrong motives, gossiping, fault-finding-anything that is against Jesus and what He stands for and put Jesus first in our lives. First above our families, our time, our friends, our job and our own desires. As a Christ follower, you have His Spirit living on the inside of you to help you with every weakness. His power is made perfect in our weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:10 The Holy Spirit will help you say no to ungodly things. He will show you sin in your life. He will give you a boldness for Jesus and He will also pray for you when you don't know what to pray. Romans 8:26
     If Jesus were to come today, would you be ready? Would He say to you, "Well done My good and faithful servant?" Matthew 25:21 I don't know about you, but I long to hear Him say those words to me. We are living in the last days. No one knows when Jesus will come except the Father.Mark 13:32. Jesus goes on to say "Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. And towards the end of verse 36, He tells everyone to Watch! Mark 13:35-36 Now is the time to prepare because once Jesus comes, there will be no more opportunity to choose Him and those who do not choose him will spend their eternity in hell.
     Friend, I am not trying to scare you, I am just sharing the truth of God's word with you and if one person reading this gets saved, it is all worth it! Jesus came so that you and I could have life! And that life begins as soon as you choose Jesus. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and He is coming back for His own. "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness." 2  Peter 3:10-13 The entire Bible has happened except the very last book-Revelation. Jesus said, "Behold, I am coming soon!" Revelation 22:7
     Get ready! The time is now!

Hold on!

"The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:24 We serve a God who is so faithful. He is faithful to us even when we are not. He has an appointed time for everything. And friend, His purpose will prevail. This is not in our time...we must remember, that it is in His perfect timing. He knows what is best for us and He will work ALL things for our good for those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. He uses all of our circumstances to conform us to the likeness of His Son Jesus. Romans 8:28-29 My friend, I don't know what you are going through or how long you have been waiting for the answer from God, but please do not give up. Don't lose hope in the fact that your God is mighty and powerful. Don't stop short of the answer. Satan Is Your Enemy, Not People

I know there are times when it feels like others are truly your enemy, by the things they say or how they treat you, however, they are not your real enemy-satan is. While he does use people as part of his strategy, he is always the one behind the warfare. You must remember this at all times. Don't let satan catch you off guard. He will come at you especially during times you are tired both physically and emotionally. He comes only to kill, steal and destroy-your family, your testimony, your finances, your relationships and your health. satan is the father of lies, he was a murderer from the beginning and there is no truth found in him (John 8:44).      Satan has been deceiving people since the Garden of Eden where he first deceived Eve.
