Find Rest In God

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 In this life, we all get tired, we get weary and we get discouraged. Jesus tells us to come to Him and He will give us rest. As we come to Him and trust Him to take care of us, He will give us rest. Jesus wants us to trust Him with everything...our families, our relationships, our financial matters, our time our talents and our work. As we trust Him, and let Him have anything that is weighing us down, these "problems" will begin to fade and we will experience peace in His presence knowing that He holds us by our hand. Isaiah 41:13
No matter what you are facing today, Jesus has already been there, He knows! His power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 Stop striving and trying to do it on your own. Your Father wants to carry your load-every bit of it, but you must first give it to Him. We tend to only give God what we would call "big" things and take on the "smaller" things of life ourselves. He asks us to pray in all things with thanksgiving on every occasion and make our requests known to Him and then  His peace, which transcends all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 There is nothing too hard for God and there is nothing He cannot handle. He asks "Is there anything too hard for the Lord?" Genesis 18:14 The answer is a resounding NO!!!! Nothing is impossible for God. Luke 1:37
We tend to view God from our human perspective and put Him in a box. Remember that His ways are not our ways and our ways are not His ways. Isaiah 55:8 When you don't understand, remember "all of the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of His covenant." Psalm 25:10 There is absolutely  nothing that happens to you that does not pass through His loving hands first. He is sovereign (Daniel 4:25) which means He is in complete control of everything that happens. I cannot explain why tragedy happens. This life can be filled with so much pain at times and we ask "why?" We may never have the answer to that question, however, I know that my God is a God of infinite mercy and love and He will take the shattered pieces of our life and put them back together again more beautiful than we ever thought possible as we trust Him.
Jesus promises that He is preparing a place for us, and if that were not so, He would not tell us that.(John 14:2) Heaven is beyond our human comprehension. It will be more beautiful than our wildest imagination. There will be no more death, no more suffering, no more tears, no more thirst and no more hunger. Revelation 7:16-17 and 22:3 Jesus is coming soon to call His children home. We will be reunited with loved ones who have gone before us that died in Christ, but more importantly, we will see our Savior face to face and spend eternity with Him and reign with Him. 2 Timothy 2:11-12 Whatever you are facing today my friend, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and know that these troubles will not last forever. He has you by your hand. He has brought you this far and will not let you go now. "I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him for that day." 2 Timothy 1:12
Find rest for your soul in His presence.
