God's purpose will stand!

"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." Proverbs 16:9 Many of us have the false assumption that we are in control of our lives. Yes, we do make choices and go down certain paths, but it is God who has the final say. He is however, not a puppeteer and never forces us to do things, He gives us the free will to choose. If you believe the Bible, and I do, then you know that God is sovereign or in absolute control. Nothing happens that does not first pass through His loving hands. Now we may not always understand why things happen, but as His child, we know that in "all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers." Romans 8:28-29 As we study this verse, we see that all things-this includes good and bad-work together for good. God can take the worst situation and work it for our good and His glory, but we have to trust Him and take Him at His word that in His time, He will work it out! In my own life, I have seen this firsthand. Almost two years ago, my marriage fell apart and Darren and I were separated. This was an extremely difficult situation for me, but instead of looking at my circumstances, I chose to look at the One to whom, NOTHING is too hard and trust that He would work it out for my good. In that valley, I learned to trust Him like never before, to lean on Him for everything. Friend, it was in that valley, that Jesus became my life. Although it was hard, I would not have changed a thing because of the relationship I have with my Father! I did not know how it was going to turn out, but I knew that God was for me and He loved me as He does you. I know that my God is faithful! Fast forward to now, Darren and I are together again. God has made our marriage new! He makes all things new! With that being said, there are times that things don't work out the way we want them to, however, God is unchanging. His purpose for you and for me is to keep our eyes on Him no matter how difficult the circumstance. He wants us to know that He is our Rock and He will never disappoint us. Sure, we may ask "why?" and it is okay to ask that question. Many great men  in the Bible like Job, David and Elijah asked why and had their doubts at times yet they pressed on and praised God. It is important for us to remember that God always has our best in mind. We make choices and these choices have consequences, some good and some bad. God will see us through every single thing we go through in this life and as we trust Him, we will begin to see just how much God cares for us. "The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." Isaiah 40:28-29 Our God is such an intimate God and cares about every detail of our lives. When you feel overwhelmed or want to give into fear, meditate on this, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 Say that verse out loud over and over if you need to and believe what He says is true! God is the one constant in life. The Alpha and the Omega-the beginning and the end. "I am God and there is no other; I am God and there is none like Me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: "MY PURPOSE WILL STAND, AND I WILL DO ALL THAT I PLEASE." Isaiah 46:9-10 Whatever you may be going through right now, just know that you are never alone and you have a God who loves you more than you can imagine. He has engraved you on the palms of His hands. Isaiah 49:16 All of us who hope in God will not be disappointed! Isaiah 49:23 Keep your eyes fixed on Him!
