Do you know without a doubt you are His?

I heard a message driving to work this morning and I felt prompted to write about it. The message was to each one of us and I pray that every person who reads this blog today will take it to heart. Do you know beyond any doubt, that you are a child of God? I am not talking about the works you do or the church you go to or the relationship your parent or spouse has with God....do YOU know that you belong to Him? Jesus spoke these words and they should bring chills up your spine, "Not everyone who says to Me, Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. MANY will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!" Matthew 7:21-23 I want to dig a bit deeper into the words that Jesus spoke. First of all, when He uses "Lord, Lord," this is describing someone who feels they know Jesus-they may have made a profession of faith, they may be one of the leaders in the church or have a great ministry. Lord is used twice, which symbolizes intimacy. These people have done great and mighty things in the name of Jesus. What stands out to me is that Jesus uses the word "many" when He speaks of the day of the Lord. There are many who claim to be a Christian. If we took a poll of how many people believe they are a Christian, I am sure there would be millions that say they are. The definition of the word many is "a large indefinite number or a large number of persons or things." I am not writing this to scare anyone or make anyone doubt their salvation, I just want everyone to examine themselves, to see whether or not they are in the faith-test yourselves. 2 Corinthians 13:5 We each need to look at ourselves, our lives and be certain that Jesus is in us. We do not know when the day of the Lord is gong to come, but you can be sure that it is coming! "Therefore, keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come." Matthew 24:42 Now is the time to make sure that you are truly His because when that day comes, it will be too late. God has made His presence known to all through creation. "He has set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Ecclesiastes 3:11 Jesus tells us, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." John 5:24 When you believe (that is to put your life upon) Jesus and ask Him to forgive your sins and turn from your sins, He places His Spirit in you who seals you until the day of redemption. Jesus tells us, also that "My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of My Father's hand. I and the Father are one." John 10:27-30 Jesus uses the word sheep to describe His children....they KNOW His voice and they follow it. Jesus is the Shepherd of the sheep and these sheep follow Him because they know His voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." John 10:4-5 Just as the sheep know the voice of the shepherd, the child of God knows the voice of His Father and not only hears it, but obeys it. Jesus promises us, "He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die." John 11:25-26 This promise is for all who will come to Jesus. Jesus died once and for all! God does not want anyone to die in their sin and go to hell. Hell was created for satan and his demons. We, my friend, have the choice...to choose life or to choose death. "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15 I am praying for God to speak to the heart of each person reading this. Cry out to Him my friend...He will show you!

Hold on!

"The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:24 We serve a God who is so faithful. He is faithful to us even when we are not. He has an appointed time for everything. And friend, His purpose will prevail. This is not in our time...we must remember, that it is in His perfect timing. He knows what is best for us and He will work ALL things for our good for those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. He uses all of our circumstances to conform us to the likeness of His Son Jesus. Romans 8:28-29 My friend, I don't know what you are going through or how long you have been waiting for the answer from God, but please do not give up. Don't lose hope in the fact that your God is mighty and powerful. Don't stop short of the answer. He tells us in His word to not get weary in well-doing, for in due season, if you faint not, you will receive your reward.Galatians 6:9 This is a promise from God Almighty. He cannot lie. Satan Is Your Enemy, Not People

I know there are times when it feels like others are truly your enemy, by the things they say or how they treat you, however, they are not your real enemy-satan is. While he does use people as part of his strategy, he is always the one behind the warfare. You must remember this at all times. Don't let satan catch you off guard. He will come at you especially during times you are tired both physically and emotionally.
