Assurance of salvation

I felt an urgency today to write on the topic of salvation because there are many who feel that salvation can be lost. This is not Biblical. Once you are saved, God places His Spirit in you and seals you until the day of redemption. "Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come." 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 In Ephesians, God says, "Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of His glory." 1:13-14 The definition of seal is: something that authenticates or confirms; to determine irrevocably....irrevocable means: impossible to retract or revoke. God has sealed His children. He has put His mark on you and me through His Spirit. For those who think one can lose salvation could simply mean that one was never saved to begin with. Your life will show if you are a true follower of Christ. Once God places His Spirit in you, He begins to change you from the inside out-this is nothing you do on your own."No one who is born of God will continue to sin (habitually) because God's seed remains in him; he can not go on sinning because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are; Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother." 1 John 3:9-10 Yes, you will still sin because none of us have arrived, you may even struggle with certain sins or even backslide, but if you are truly a child of God this is not a habitual lifestyle-He will bring you back to Himself. If you continue in sin, He will discipline you as a father disciplines his child, in order to change your behavior and get your eyes back on Him. He disciplines us because He loves us and knows what is best for us. He does not want us to continue heading down a wrong path. Thank you Lord, that Jesus speaks to You in our defense! 1 John 2:1 As a child of God, you know deep within that you are His."The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." Romans 8:16 It is that peace that passes all understanding. It is hearing God speak to your heart. It is being overwhelmed in His presence. It is being moved as a song about Jesus plays on the radio or in church. It is loving someone who does not love you in return. It is giving to someone in need. It is forgiving as Jesus forgives. It is simply being obedient to our Father. God keeps His promises. He does not change-He is the same yesterday, today and forever. God has given us this testimony: "God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:11-13 God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19) God's word is truth and it is His word to us. "All scripture is God-breathed" 2 Timothy 3:16 I am praying that if someone reading this is unsure as to whether or not they are saved, that God would reveal Himself to you in such a mighty way and grab hold of your heart. He is waiting for you with open arms.
