God is your ever-present help
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High God dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at the break of day. Nations are in uproar, the kingdoms fall; He lifts His voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress." Psalm 46:1-7 In this life, we face difficulties and many hardships. At times, we may start to even feel overwhelmed by everything going on around us. But our God, is our ever-present help in trouble. In spite of the storm that is raging around us, God and only God, can calm our hearts and give us the peace that passes all human understanding. This peace He gives is supernatural and unexplainable. God can calm the storm, as He did when the disciples were in the boat. "He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm....who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him." Luke 8:24-25 Other times, He will calm His child in the midst of unbearable circumstances. Nothing happens to us that does not first pass through God's loving hands...He is always working on behalf of His children, for our good and His glory. "I was young, and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken." Psalm 37:25 We serve a God who is faithful-He is unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The faithful God of the Old and New Testaments is the same God today who comforts, restores, loves, forgives and heals His children. The day you chose to follow Christ, His Spirit was placed in you and you were sealed with His Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. "Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of His glory." Ephesians 1:13-14 As a follower of Christ, we should always keep in mind that "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6 God finishes what He started. He has brought you this far, and is not going to let you go. Your life has purpose. There is only one you and God created you and me for His glory. As we keep our eyes fixed on Him, He will carry us through the hardest of times and the worst of conditions. As we remain focused on Him, and begin to praise Him in the midst of it all, others will see and God will receive the glory! God has chosen you my friend, to go through this battle in your life right now...the testing of your faith produces perseverance...Sometimes God allows us to go through the fire, but He will never leave us in it a second too long. "For you O God, tested us; You refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but YOU BROUGHT US INTO A PLACE OF ABUNDANCE." Psalm 66:10-12 Keep your eyes on Him my friend, and as you go through your trial, ask Him to help you through and ask Him what you can learn in the trial. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit." Psalm 147:3-5
