Jesus Will Never Abandon You

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord who has compassion on you (Isaiah 54:10)."
I don't know what is going on in your life right now or what kind of trial you may be facing. A loved one may have abandoned you, a spouse may have turned his back on you or a friend may have betrayed you. Your heart may be broken. I am here to tell you there is One who can heal your heart and put the broken pieces of your life back together. His name is Jesus~the One true God, the faithful One, the One who will never, no never leave you!
When we have been hurt, we tend to look within and ask what is wrong with me? What have I done to make this person treat me the way he does? Now, granted there are times that we cause the hurt in others, but what about the times when someone hurts or betrays us for no apparent reason? I have learned that we all have choices we make everyday~some good and some bad, but through it all the only person we can control is ourselves. We cannot make someone love us or act a certain way. We can only control the way we respond when someone mistreats us.
Humanly speaking, when someone wrongs us, the first thing we want to do is get back at them either with words or actions. As a follower of Christ, we are called to be different. Our response should always be, "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:44-45)." This response is supernatural and requires the Holy Spirit within to guide us. He will give us His strength and power to do it.
One thing we must remember when others disappoint us, and that is: our worth is not based in what anyone thinks of us or says about us, no my friend, our worth is based on Christ and what He says about us. What does Jesus say about us?  He delights in us (Psalm 18:19). He rejoices over us (Zephaniah 3:17). We are precious and honored in His sight (Isaiah 43:4). He loves us (Ephesians 3:18). He heals us (Isaiah 53:5). He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). He is our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). He has redeemed us (Ephesians 1:7). We must also remember that Jesus has forgiven us and continues to forgive us for our sin. With that in mind, we are to show grace and mercy to those who have sinned against us and hurt us and forgive them. "For, if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins (Matthew 6:14-15)." So you see, forgiveness is a crucial part of our life as a believer. It is a continual act that we show. We must choose to forgive, despite our feelings. If you wait to forgive when you "feel" like it, then friend,  you never will. Once we make the choice to forgive, eventually our feelings will follow.
Now, let's talk about the One who will never abandon us our hurt us, or leave us~Jesus. "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present, nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39)." Think and meditate on these verses for a moment. Let them sink down into your heart until you believe them. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that will ever separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus!
Jesus will never fail us. In fact, in Christ, the answer has always been yes. "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are yes in Christ. And so through Him the Amen is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come (2 Corinthians 1:20-22)."
Because of this hope that we have, and who we belong to, we can get through any situation no matter how painful. It is in the knowing that this life is not all there is. No, my friend, this is only a taste. Jesus has gone to prepare a place for you and me. A place that is perfect, beautiful and beyond words. Paul caught a glimpse of this place and it left him speechless. "I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained. I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know-God knows. And I know that this man-whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows-was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell (2 Corinthians 12:1-4)."
Let us keep our minds fixed on Christ, the hope of our salvation. Let us keep running the race and persevering under trials to one day hear our Lord and Savior say, "Well done, My good and faithful servant!
"For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage each other with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)."
