You Are Righteous In Christ

"But now a righteousness from God, apart from the law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ TO ALL who believe. There is no difference, for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." Romans 3:21-24 The moment you choose to follow Christ and surrender your life and will to His, you are made righteous. This is not based on anything that you do, it is simply based on God and His gift of grace to you through His Son, Christ Jesus.
Think about that for a  moment.....God's grace is not based on ANYTHING that you do. No amount of good works will get you into heaven, you cannot "earn" your way into heaven, no amount of giving will get you there nor can you get to heaven by going to church or leading a Bible study. God's grace is unmerited favor....He gives us something that we do not deserve and that is eternal life through Christ Jesus. Our sins-all of them-past, present and future-have been washed in the blood of Christ. When Christ died on the cross that day for you and for me, He took all of our sin and shame and nailed it to the cross once and for all.
"Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him." Romans 4:7-8 This is also mentioned in the Psalms...."Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit." Psalm 32:1-2
So what does it mean to be declared righteous? It means that now, God sees you through the blood of Christ. Because of Christ's finished work on the cross, you have been made just and acceptable in the sight of Almighty God.
"The Lord is compassionate and slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will He harbor His anger forever. He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. for as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him." Psalm 103: 8-13 Not one of us has ever deserved this kind of love that our Father has for us. While we were still yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Christ made a way where there was  no way! He bridged the gap between us and the Holy, Majestic, Perfect God. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 It doesn't get any more clearer than that....there aren't "many" ways to God-there is only ONE way and that way is through His precious Son Jesus. God is truth. The world will tell you there are many ways to get to heaven or that you can be your own god. satan will deceive you into thinking you have all kinds of time to become a Christian, but friend, you don't know when you will take your last breath. If you die without Christ, you will spend eternity separated from Him in hell. Hell is not some made up place. In fact, Jesus spoke more about hell then he did any other subject. Hell was created for satan and his demons."Then He will say to those on His left, depart from Me, you who are cursed into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." Matthew 25:41 God does not send anyone to hell. He gives us the choice to make. You may go to church every Sunday or you may lead a Bible fellowship group or do some other good work, but is your heart clean and pure before the Lord? Have you cried out to the Lord and asked Him to save you? Have you confessed your sin before Him and told Him you need Jesus? Have you confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart that Jesus is Lord? When Jesus is Lord-He is Lord of all, not just some areas of your life. John 3:16 is a verse that is quoted often. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." The word "believes" here can be translated to put your life upon. Many people say with their mouth, yes, I am a Christian, yet their lives show something entirely different. It's like when Jesus told the Pharisees they clean the outside of the cup, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence (Matthew 23:25-26). Many people may on the outside "look" like a Christian, but inside, their hearts are full of deceit, unforgiveness and lust. God is the only One who can clean our heart and make us a new creation.
If you feel a tugging at your heart right now, or you feel uncomfortable, that is God's Spirit drawing you to Him. Let Him have His way in your heart. Tell Him right now you need Him and ask Him to cleanse you in the blood of His Son Jesus once and for all. Confess that Jesus is Lord! Ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and take out your heart of stone. He will do this for you! He wants you to come to Him. Jesus says, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with Me." Revelation 3:20 "To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne." Revelation 3:21
