You Are Precious In His Sight!
"But now, this is what the Lord says-He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel.Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in My sight, and because I love you." Isaiah 43:1-4 Through Christ, God has redeemed us and summoned us (or requested to appear or sent for). The next few verses are a metaphor of the trials and difficulties we go through in life...there is a promise for us in these verses that we will not be overtaken, no matter how hard the situation may be, God is right here. He promises to carry us through because we are precious and honored in His sight and because He loves us.
With that being said....it is easy for us while we are going through a difficult time, to take our eyes off of Christ and focus on the circumstances. We may even find ourselves thinking, how could God love me if He allowed this to happen? Friend, it is then, you need to get into God's word and rest on the promises that He gave you! Don't focus on your circumstances...instead focus on the God who created you, the God who loves you, the God who promises to NEVER leave or forsake you! Hebrews 13:5 The Lord is our helper, we will not be afraid, what can man do to me? Hebrews 13:6 When we focus on Christ, our problems don't go away, however, they become small and God becomes BIG!
"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17 Read that verse again and meditate on it...Let God settle your restless heart and know that He rejoices over you with singing! I don't know about you, but the thought of our mighty God rejoicing over me with song just blows my mind.
"The Lord their God will save them on that day, as the flock of His people. They will sparkle in His land like jewels in a crown. How attractive and beautiful they will be." Zechariah 9:16-17 Oh, if we could only grasp how deeply God loves us. Yes, we are going to have hard times in this life-Jesus never promised us a life of ease, but He did promise us His peace. "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27 He also said "in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 When Jesus died on the cross and rose again three days later as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, He destroyed all of the works of the devil. The victory has already been won! We fight from victory, not for it....we already have victory in Christ Jesus. He said on the cross that day, "It is finished." John 19:30 He was the one and only perfect sacrifice for you and for me...nothing else needs to be done. His gift of life is free. There is nothing you can do to earn this free gift of grace. He wants you to come to Him just as you are. Jesus will make you whole. You are loved so dearly by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
I don't know what you are going through at this time, but I have a verse for you that really stood out to me as I was reading the Word. "How gracious He will be when you cry for help! As soon as He hears, He will answer you. Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying-this is the way, walk in it." Isaiah 30:19-21 God is as close to you as your breath. Be still before Him and tune everything else out. As you get into His word, He will speak to you. "He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart." Isaiah 40:11
