You Shall Know the Truth, and the Truth Shall Set You Free
Lately, I have been burdened by things that I hear people say who profess to know Christ. I cannot stress how important it is to know God's word. Not just hear it in a message on Sunday mornings, but know His word so well, that if the Bible was taken away, you would have scripture hidden in your heart and would not fall away from the truth. We are in the last days. Every thing has happened in the Bible as God said it would. The only book in the Bible that is left is the last book of Revelation. We need to be mindful of this and be ready, for we do not know when Christ will appear and gather His own. He is coming back just as God said He would. God is truth; He is not a man that He could lie. Be aware that there will be people who claim that Jesus is not the Christ. "No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also." 1 John 2:23 John goes on to tell us "see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. if it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what He promised us-eternal life." 1 John 2:24-25
There are not many roads to heaven. There is only one way and that is through Jesus Christ. He is THE truth, THE way and THE life. John 14:6 There are not many ways-do not be deceived. satan would like nothing more to deceive many into believing that there are other ways to heaven. Sin came into the world through Adam. There were no amount of animal sacrifices that could take away a person's sin. God is Holy and Just and for that reason, there was the need for a perfect sacrifice. That perfect, sinless sacrifice was Jesus Christ. He made a way where there was no other way. We could never do enough good works. We have a sin nature and without the Holy Spirit, we could never overcome it on our own. You may be thinking, well I have never done anything really bad like murder someone or did drugs or stolen money. The Bible tells us "there is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. all have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." Romans 3:10-12 Every one of us have sinned and apart from Christ are unrighteous. "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Him as a sacrifice for atonement, through faith in His blood. He did this to demonstrate His justice, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished-He did it to demonstrate His justice at the present time, so as to be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus." Romans 3:23-26 You see, there is nothing, absolutely nothing we can do on our own to earn God's salvation. He gives us His grace-a free gift for all who will believe and receive this gift-Christ Jesus. How wonderful our God is, that instead of giving us what we all deserve, He instead sends His One and only Son to die for you and for me. Jesus died in our place. It should have been us beaten beyond recognition and nailed to the cross. But God, so rich in love and mercy, offered His Son, who willingly laid down His life for you and for me. He took every sin we ever committed or ever will commit and nailed it to the cross once and for all.
"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? Who has ever given to God that God should repay him? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever!" Romans 11:33-36
I stand in awe of my God and my King! Through Jesus, He sets us free. Free to be who we are in Him. No more fear, no more bondage, no more chains and no more shame. I am so praying for each of you to know the Truth; to know the freedom there is in Christ. He will fill every part of you and become your everything if you let Him. He will restore the years the locusts have eaten. He will give you a peace that passes all human understanding. He will fill every void in your life. He is the only One who can! "To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father-to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen." Revelation 1:5-6
