God Uses You To Minister To Others

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
It is amazing to me, the people God will allow you to meet at just the right time. Tonight, I was standing in a long line at Forsyth Tech waiting to get my books for the classes I am going to take for the semester. I met a woman while in line and we connected right away. We shared our "story" and realized how very much we had in common. God has a way of doing that. It wasn't by chance that we met. I now have a new sister in Christ! As we go through our struggles in life, we must remember that God always has a purpose in our pain. First, as we seek His face in our sufferings, He showers us with His compassion and peace. Next, we will grow in Him and our faith will most definitely be strengthened. This does not happen overnight, but as we continue to seek Him and cry out to Him, we will get to the other side.
The seasons we go through in life are temporary.....the struggles, the pain, heartache and the difficult times. God can and will use us to minister to others who are in need. What a blessing it is, to reach out to someone. You can be assured that God will give you the words to say. As followers of Christ, we are to love as He loves. This love is not based on conditions, it is not judgmental and it is not harsh. It is agape love-which is selfless love. This agape love doesn't see the imperfections and flaws in others and it loves no matter what another person says or does. It is an unconditional love...it is the love Jesus has for you and for me. How do we love like this? It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit living within us. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is  not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
As we love like this-like Jesus-others will see and God will be glorified. Which is the reason we were created...to bring Him glory...we were created by Him and for Him. "For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together." Colossians 1:15-17 Your purpose and my purpose is to bring God glory. We do that when we minister to others, help those in need, share the gospel, worship our Lord in song, pray, love unconditionally, forgive as He forgives us and praise Him when everything around us is crumbling. Friend, you and me are still here for a reason!
I am praying for all who read this that the eyes of your understanding may be opened. I pray you would know how dearly loved you are by Jesus. There is nothing you have ever done or ever will do to keep Jesus from reaching out to you with open arms. I pray that you will know how precious you are in the sight of God and that He has a purpose for you! If you are going through a difficult time right now, know that God is right there in the midst of your pain and He will walk you through each step of the way. Cry out to Him and tell Him how much you need Him. He is faithful and true and He will be your Rock and the strength you need. "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who need You." Psalm 9:9-10
