The Great I Am

Image
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world (Psalm 19:1-4)."      There is no where you can go, that you cannot look around you and see God's handiwork. The beauty of His creation is in the sky, the people and in all of nature. "For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy in His dwelling place (1 Chronicles 16:25-27)."       There is no one like Him. He stands alone and is on His throne. Everything in the earth, the atmosphere and all of heaven belongs to Him. He spoke, and it came to be. He saw everything He had made and it wasn...

The Lord Almighty is Your Support!

"He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me (2 Samuel 22:17-20)."      Whatever you are facing in this very moment my friend, God will be your support and your strength. Life is at times hard and circumstances can seem overwhelming at times. You cry out to God to "fix" everything, to make your problems go away, but sometimes, He will calm you in spite of what you are facing. He doesn't take you out of the situation, but He gives you His peace and His strength to endure the difficulty. The problem may still exist, however, in Him, you have the fullness of joy and an overwhelming sense of His presence and His peace. It is a beautiful thing, when we can become content with whatever l...

Do Not Fear~Be Strong and Courageous!

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6)."      "Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and I will help you. I will hold you with My righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10)."      Fear, what is it and how do you overcome it? Fear is defined as 'a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil or pain, whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.' You may feel fear in a situation where you are threatened. You may be afraid when someone you love walks out on you. You may be fearful when you don't have the money to provide for your family. You may feel fear when you have been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition. You may feel fear when you think of the future.       No matter what the situation, fe...

Don't Give Up!

"Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said, 'In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, grant me justice against my adversary. For some time he refused, but finally he said to himself, even though I don't fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see hat she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming! And the Lord said, listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? I tell you, He will see that they get justice and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?' (Luke 18:1-8)."      Jesus gave us this parable to encourage us to not lose heart and to keep praying until we re...

The Path of Jesus Is the Narrow Way

"Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many (Matthew 7:13)."      You are walking down one path in life. This path is either the narrow way to life or the wide path to hell. There is no middle ground. You cannot be a child of God yet live like the world. You are either for Him or against Him. There are many who call themselves "Christians" yet continue to do the same things the world does. Sure, they may go to church on Sunday, but they are also going to bars, doing drugs, watching pornography, being greedy, cursing or anything else that pleases the flesh.       Jesus said, "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from Me you evildoers!' (Matthew 7:22-23)." He is speaking to all of those who ...

Your Grace Is Enough!

"Be not far from me O God; come quickly to help me. May my accusers perish in shame; may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace. But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise You more and more. My mouth will tell of Your righteousness, of Your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure. I will come and proclaim Your mighty acts, O Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim Your righteousness, Yours alone. Since my youth, O God, You have taught me, and to this day I declare Your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare Your power to the next generation, Your might to all who are to come. Your righteousness reaches to the skies O God, You who have done great things. Who, O God is like You? Though You have made me see troubles many and bitter, You will restore my life again, from the depths of the earth You will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again (Psalm 71:1...

The Love of Christ Compels Us

"If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God, if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again (2 Corinthians 5:13-15)."     Wh en you experience the deep love of Christ and it's purity and beauty, you cannot help but give it away. This love is a sacrificial love. It is one that continues to love regardless of how you are treated, regardless of what others say to you or about you and it is one that loves against all odds. This love of Christ forgives when you are hurt. It forgives when you are mistreated. It forgives when injustice is shown to you or your family. This type of love keeps no record of wrongs. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not self-seeking, it is not...

Season of Waiting

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord (Psalm 27:14)."      "I wait for the Lord, I expectantly wait, and in His word do I hope. I am looking and waiting for the Lord, more than watchmen for the morning, I say, more than watchmen for the morning (Psalm 130:5-6)."      "The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him (Lamentations 3:25)."      Waiting on God is expressing our dependence upon Him. Waiting on God is expecting comfort and relief only from Him. It is not trying to manipulate a situation. It is not trying to control others to suit your needs but waiting and knowing that God will do what He has promised. No matter how long the delay, it is trusting God and in Him alone-not looking to others for the answer.       God's timing is perfect, because He is perfect. "As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord's word is flawless; He shields all who ...

The Greatest Love of All

"You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call on You (Psalm 86:5)."      "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God (1 John 3:1)."      To love someone is to 'cherish or hold dear and to take pleasure in them.' Love is also a 'feeling of strong or constant affection for a person.' Friend, that is the way God feels about you all the time. He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is  love. "If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in Him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in Him (1 John 4:15-16)."       God's love is one with no limits and no conditions. There is nothing you must do to earn it just as there is nothing you can do to make God stop loving you. Period. How absolutely freeing the love of God...
