Hold on to the Hope You Have in Christ

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, I am making everything new! Then He said, write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true (Revelation 21: 3-5)."
Here on earth as you go through life, you will go through trials, times of testing and all types of suffering. Jesus promised that in this world, we will have trouble, but to take heart (hold on) because He has overcome the world (John 16:33). We as believers, can hold on and have the peace that only Jesus gives because we know that this life is not all there is. Praise God! One day, there will be an end to all the pain, all the suffering, hurt and sorrow that we feel now. One day, we will be in a magnificent place, one where there is no more sin, no more heartache and more importantly, where God Himself is. Jesus has already gone before us and is preparing our new home. He said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in Me. In My Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going (John 14:1-4)."
He has told us the way to the place He is going, this way is none other than through Him, the Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the way the truth and the life. Because He overcame the grave and conquered sin and death, we too can live, live forever with Him! Hallelujah! Praise to my God and my King!
God puts a longing in each of our hearts for more....but I am not referring to material things, church, family, friends, relationships or physical activity. While those things are in themselves good, they are not what we yearn for. They will never satisfy the deep thirst we have within. There is only One who can fill that void, and that One is Jesus Christ. Until we let Him fill us, we will continue to search for worth, value and significance. We will try to fill the void we have in our heart with many things, but will always come up short. Once He fills us with His glorious presence, we become new. He takes all of our sin, shame and broken pieces and in return gives us His righteousness, His unfailing love and forgiveness and makes us whole. He truly is living water, and once you drink from Him, you will never thirst again. Jesus is everything and He is all you will ever need! He loves you more than anyone ever could. He is there when no one else is and will never leave you. It is in Him, you will find rest for your soul.
Because of Jesus, you can face tomorrow. Because of Him, you have no need to fear the future. Because of Him, you have a hope that can never be shaken no matter what happens to you in this life. He is your Rock and your refuge from the storm. You are treasured in the eyes of Christ. He made you. "For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14)." He knows every detail about you, even the very hairs on your head are numbered (Matthew 10:30).
Friend, He has not brought you this far to let you go. He created you for a purpose, and that purpose is to live for Him. It is to go and share your God story with others so they too can have the hope you have which is found in Christ! God is too good to keep Him to yourself! Proclaim His glory because He is worthy! Shine for Him my friend and know that your labor for Him is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
"Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise in the assembly of the saints. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. For the Lord takes delight in His people; He crowns the humble with salvation. Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds (Psalm 149:1-5)."
