God Loves You With An Everlasting Love
"O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with Him is full redemption." Psalm 130:7
God reminds us in His word over and over just how much He loves us. Not only does He love us, but He in fact, is love. "God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him (1 John 4:16)." You may have been rejected by a loved one, friend or co-worker, but God will never reject you. His love for you is not based on anything that you do, but solely based on who God is! You cannot earn His love. You cannot work for His love. He doesn't love you any less when you sin and He doesn't love you more when you are obedient to Him. Now, let me say that since God is holy and perfect, when we do sin, He hates it, however, we have One who stands in our defense, ready to forgive as soon as we confess our sin, and that is Jesus Christ. " If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)." My point is this, God loves us in spite of us and all of our wrong choices. He knows every sin we have ever committed or ever will commit and He loves us the same.
He is not like man. He doesn't hold our sin against us. He doesn't harbor bitterness and grudges against us. He made a way for us where there was otherwise no way to be reconciled to Him. That way is none other than through the precious blood of Jesus. The sinless, spotless lamb who was slain so that we may have life in Him. "Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit (Psalm 32:1-2)."
Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, willingly laid down His life for you and me. "Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth. (Isaiah 53:4-7)."
God sent His one and only Son to die on the cross because He loved you and me so much. God is perfect, just and holy and because of this, needed a perfect sacrifice-Jesus. Jesus did what we could not do for ourselves. Through Him, we are restored to the Father. In Christ, God no longer sees our sin, No! In Christ, we are covered in His blood and are now righteous before God. "I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness (Isaiah 63:10)."
Friend, I don't know what is going on in your life right now. You may be in a storm and you don't know how you are ever going to get through. God stands ready to help you right now, this very moment. There is nothing too hard for the Lord! He will make a way where there seems to be no way. He will carry you through your storm and take you to the other side. Trust Him to do this. Take Him at His word. He loves you so much! Cry out to Jesus. Let Him fill you with His peace. "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you, I do no give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid (John 14:27)." Your circumstances may not change right away, but He will give you joy in the midst of your circumstances. He will give you a hope that can never be shaken. He sees the end from the beginning and is in complete control of everything. Everything He does is loving. "The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made. The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:17-18)."
God is for you my friend! Believe Him, take Him at His word and trust Him "The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made (Psalm 145:8-9)."
