Spiritual Attack

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10
You have an enemy who will stop at nothing to destroy your testimony, ruin your relationships and cause confusion and chaos in your life.
I want you to understand the background of satan. It is important that you know who your enemy is. satan is not what movies and cartoons make him out to be. You need to know what God's word says about him. satan was once "annointed as a guardian cherub and on the holy mount of God (Ezekiel 28:14)." He was the model of perfection~full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. He was adorned with many beautiful precious stones (Ezekiel 28:12-13). Because of his beauty, his heart became proud and filled with violence. He said "I will ascend to heaven , I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High (Isaiah 14:13-14). Read those verses again and notice all of the "I will" statements made by satan. He didn't just want to be like God, he wanted to be above God and he wanted to be worshiped. satan is a counterfeiter. The Bible clearly tells us that he "masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14)."
We must stay grounded in the Word of God so that we can stand against him. We must also be aware of his schemes. I believe the first thing he attacks is our minds. He cannot read your mind, but he can and will put thoughts in your mind. Have you ever been overcome with thoughts of fear or depression? Have you ever had thoughts that you are worthless and God does not love you? These are all lies from the enemy. Now, we still have a sin nature, so everything that enters your mind is not from satan, it could be from your flesh, however, when these thoughts come out of nowhere and you feel oppressed or deeply troubled for no apparent reason, you may be in a spiritual attack from the enemy. In that moment, you need to pray and quote the Word of God. Stand on His truth. When we submit to God and resist the devil, he must flee! (James 4:7)We are also bombarded by all sorts of evil from television, media and even people. We are in a war and the minute we let our guard up, we give satan ground. That is why Paul tells us in Ephesians to "put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes (6:10)." We need to take the helmet of salvation (the covering of our minds in Christ) and the Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) daily. God tells us in His Word that we are to be "transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2)." We do this by staying in the Word and letting the truth penetrate our heart, soul and mind. When the enemy starts whispering lies, you will recognize what is happening and not fall into his trap.
satan knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12). Wickedness and lawlessness abound. You may wonder if there will ever be an end to all of the heartache, pain and suffering....the answer to that is YES! One day Jesus is coming back for His own. In the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. Those in Christ will be changed and will be with Him forever and ever! Then the  saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory! (1 Corinthians 15:52-55) "And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever (Revelation 20:10)."
Everyone who is in Christ will live one day in the new Jerusalem which will "come down from heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband (Revelation 21:2)."
"Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, I am making everything new! (Revelation 21:3-5)
So my friend, keep fighting the good fight of faith! Hold on to the hope you have that is in Christ! This life on earth is only temporary. Live with eternity at the front of your mind and in everything you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Jesus says, "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, (who have been washed in the blood of the Lamb), that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may go through the gates into the city (Revelation 22:12-14).
    Amen! Come Lord Jesus!
