Hope in Christ

"To You O Lord, I lift up my soul; in You I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one whose hope is in You will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse." Psalm 25:1-3
God is a God of hope! Before the beginning of time to the present, as long as you have the Lord God, you have hope. This hope we have is not found in worldly things. It is not found in others. It is found only in Christ Jesus. Hebrews 6:19 tells us that this hope is an anchor for our souls. An anchor is something that a ship uses to keep stable. As the anchor holds, so does the ship. In Christ, you are the ship and He is the anchor that keeps you.You may be going through some tumultuous times in your life right now. Everything around you may be falling apart, but friend, as long as you have Jesus, He will hold you steady. Because of Him, you can face anything in this world and know that it is going to be okay. Now I am not saying it is easy and there may even be times that you don't think you can make it through, but as you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, you will have a peace that passes all human understanding. His precious Spirit living inside of you gives you this peace that is unexplainable. The key is keeping your eyes on Jesus. It is at times easy to lose sight of Him when we go through difficult situations. We tend to ask why? Especially when He does not answer right away or answer the way we think He should. We may even think that He does not love us. Friend, there is nothing further from the truth! Nothing can or ever will separate you from the love of Christ.
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?"
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:35-39
When you go through difficult times, it is important that you remember that God is always good and He is always loving. "All of the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of His covenant." "Taste and see that the Lord is good."
(Psalm 25:10; Psalm 34:8)
God is sovereign and has a purpose behind everything that He does. He is a God of order. Nothing happens to you that does not first pass through His hands of love. It may be that He is refining you in the fire. As He does this, He purges all of the things in your life that don't glorify Him. This is not easy for us, but it is ultimately for our good and His glory. As I look back on my own life and think of the hard times I have gone through, I am thankful because it was during those times, that I sought after God like never before. I learned in those times, that God will never leave me nor forsake me. I learned that He was all I needed! God will bring you through whatever you are facing right now. Take Him at His word my friend. All of His promises are for YOU!
This life we live is only a vapor. "You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." (James 4:14) Our time here on earth passes quickly. We do not know when we will take our last breath. One day you and I will face the Lord. It will either be at the judgment seat of Christ ( if you are a believer) or at the great white throne judgement (where those who are without Christ will be judged and cast into hell). For those in Christ, Oh what a beautiful and glorious day, but for those who do not know Him, they will be forever separated from Him. Now is the day of salvation. Jesus stands ready and waiting for you with open arms. He died so that you and I could live! He died and took the punishment that you and I deserved. Because He rose again, you and I will rise again and be with Him forevermore. The choice is yours my friend. Call upon His name. He will never disappoint you. He will satisfy your deepest longings. He is all you ever need!
