The Empty Tomb

"On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the  women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightening stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, He has risen! Remember how He told you, while He was still with you in Galilee, the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again. Luke 24:1-7      What a wonderful truth and promise for us to hold on to! Today we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because He lives, we too, will also live! Jesus had fulfilled the mission of the Father over 2,000 years ...

Come Back to the Lord!

"Blessed is he whose transgressions (willful sin) are forgiven, whose sins are covered (by the blood of Jesus). Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent (when I kept my sin inside and tried to hide it), my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.  For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of the summer. (This refers to the one who is a child of God living in sin-he is miserable and does not have peace).  Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, 'I will confess my transgressions (willful or rebellious sin) to the Lord' and You forgave the guilt of my sin ." Psalm 32:1-5      These verses reflect a man who tried to cover up his sin without confessing it to the Lord. During that time, he was miserable and his fellowship with God was broken because of his unconfessed sin. Then as s...

Wait On the Lord

"Wait"~that word is not really understood in the society we live in today.  We want things right now! We pray and we want an answer immediately. If we don't get the answer in an instant, we often try to make something happen and do it our own way. This always ends up in defeat.       "Wait for the Lord" Psalm 27:14 " Blessed are all who wait for Him." Isaiah 30:18 God is not on a time schedule. He does things in His own time-in His way. When we take things into our own hands, we are merely saying, I am going to handle this Lord and we are not trusting Him  to provide the answer. Now we may not verbalize this, but in essence, that is what we are saying. Waiting requires patience. It requires us to sometimes stand even when all the circumstances are clearly telling us the opposite. Yes, my friend, sometimes, you are not to "do" anything, but simply stand. This is not easy. In fact, it goes against our human nature to wait. But God will gi...
