In Christ, You Are Royalty!
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness and into His wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9-10 God chose you, my friend, to share in His royal kingdom. He called you out of sin and bondage, and into His glorious light! Through Christ, you have been set free! This earth that we live in, is only temporary...it is not our home. Our home awaits us in heaven. If we could only grasp this, and hold on to this truth...Jesus said, "In My Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you may also be where I am. You know way to the place where I am going." John 14:2-4 Jesus is preparing a beautiful place for you and for me...Paul called this place "paradise" when He was taken to the third heaven where God is. 2 Corinthians 12:2-5 This paradise is going to be our home.
In Revelation, speaking of Jesus and those who have been bought by His blood, those who have made Him Lord of their lives, we read: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth." Revelation 5:9-10 God is going to make a new heaven and a new earth for us one day. There will be no more sin, no more tears and no more sorrow. It will be perfect-as it was when God first created Adam and Eve before the fall, and they walked and talked with God.(Revelation 22:3) We will have no need for the sun or the moon to give us light, for the glory of God gives its light and Jesus is its lamp. Revelation 21:23 We will be in the presence of the Almighty God!
With all this in mind my friend, we need to persevere through the tough times. These times are only temporary and even though they may be really difficult for you right now, they are nothing in comparison to what is coming. "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23 God can not and will not go against His word. Everything He has said has come to pass...we are now living in the days before Revelation which God gave to John to reveal to us what must soon take place. Revelation 1:1 Hold on to the hope you have in Christ Jesus. He warns us that in the last times "there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. " Jude 18-21
One glorious day our Lord Jesus, the One who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father, (Revelation 1:5-6) will come for us.
"Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7-8
God's word is faithful and true! In Christ, you have nothing to fear...to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord...to live is Christ, but to die is gain because as soon as we take our last breath, we will be in the presence of the King!
Hold on to these words as you go through life's trials and difficulties, "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire!" Hebrews 12:28
Jesus is coming back for His own my friend. "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be called up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage each other with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
