Stay On Course!

"Let us  not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9 Paul writes this empowered by the Holy Spirit because God knew at times, we would feel like giving up. We have a promise from God that if we keep pressing on and not give up, we WILL reap a harvest at the proper time.
This proper time is God's time, not ours-He will work things out according to His plan. God wants to grow us in Him...this may be painful at times and the waiting is hard for us because we live in a world of instant gratification. We want things now, we don't want to wait. It is so important for us to "be transformed by the renewing of our minds so that we will be able to test and approve what God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2 You may be asking the question, what does it mean to renew my mind? It means to take the focus off of yourself and focus on Christ and all that He is. It is filling your mind with His word so that you will be able to throw out any thought that is against His nature.
Everything God gives us in His word is for our benefit and to profit us. It is easy to get weighed down by all of the things we go through in life. It is easy to look at our circumstances instead of to Him who will give us peace and joy as we walk through difficult seasons in our lives. When we take our eyes off Jesus, and begin to look at our circumstances, these circumstances become bigger and bigger and God becomes smaller and smaller. Friend, what are you facing today? There is nothing to difficult for God. Luke 1:31 tells us that "nothing is impossible with God." I am going to be transparent right now and let you know that my "mountain" right now is finances. There are times when I wonder how in the world am I going to be able to buy groceries or pay a phone bill or buy shoes for my boys? The Spirit reminds me that "He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness." 2 Corinthians 9:10 I have found that when I focus on what I don't have, I begin to worry, but God does not let me stay there for long-and I begin to think on all the promises I have... because I am His child and my cares fade away as I look into the face of Jesus! God promises that "all things work together for good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28 "All" means just that--everything, the good and the bad. Everything God does, He does so with our best in mind. Whatever difficulty you are facing right now, God already knows and He will carry you through. He is the only One who can give you peace and joy in the midst of every trial. My heart's cry is, like Paul, "to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead." Philippians 3:10-11 Jesus is our perfect example. "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:2-3
One thing I have learned in my walk with the Lord is when I am going through something difficult in my life, is first and foremost, He will never leave me or forsake me.Hebrews 13:5...and that promise is for you. Also, I ask Him what is He trying to show me or teach me? God is a God of order and He has a purpose. We were created by Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16  It is not about us, but it's all about Him.
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossians 3:16-17
I am praying for each of you reading this blog, that God will shower you with His grace and mercy. Praying each of you know beyond any doubt, that you are loved by God. There is nothing too hard for God-there is no circumstance He cannot change. Whatever you are facing today, give it to Jesus-lay it at the foot of the cross and let Him carry it for you. Look to Jesus, not your circumstances and press on...one day, one glorious day-for all who are His, there will be no more pain, no more sadness, nor more sin and no more death. He will wipe away our tears and we will be with Him forever and ever. Revelation 21:3-4
