The King is Coming!
"Behold I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and i will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:12-13)."
My friend, no matter what you are facing or may face in this life, if you are a child of the Most High, you have a hope that can never spoil, perish or fade. We are only on this earth for a short span of time and after that.....eternity. "Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away (James 4:14)." Most of us don't live with this mindset. We take for granted that we have much time left. We assume we will wake up tomorrow. But, we are not promised tomorrow. Life can change in a second. We are to live each day with the expectation today could be the day Jesus returns! Jesus tells us, "Be dressed and ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet so that when he comes and knocks, they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes (Luke 12:32-37)."
As a child of God, your hope is not dependent upon circumstances or people. The world, your finances, your health, relationships and situations are constantly changing, however, the Lord does not change. He is the one and only constant in this life. He is the one who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). At times your world may seem as though it is falling apart, but rest assured, God is in control. He always has been and always will be. He is a good and faithful God. He is true to His word and will not deny it. Whatever He says, it will come to pass. "I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted (Job 42:2)."
When you are struggling with your faith, when you are going through difficult circumstances or when it feels like God is not there, it is in these times that you need to trust and depend on the character of God. He is omniscient-He knows everything and His knowledge is complete. He is omnipotent-He is able to bring to pass everything that He chooses. He is omnipresent-He is present in all places at all times. He is unchanging-He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is holy-He cannot even look upon sin. He is righteous-everything He does is right and true. He is sovereign-He is in complete control and rules creation. He is love-not just that He has love, He is love. He is merciful-He doesn't give us what we deserve. He is three-persons-God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God is a good God and Father, not just some of the time, but all the time.
Whatever God has allowed in your life, you can rest assured that He has a divine purpose behind it and He will work it for your good and His glory ultimately, to make you more like Christ.
When you are at the end of your life, it won't matter how much money you made, how many awards you received, what your title was or how much stuff you had. What will matter is did you know Jesus and did He know you? What did you do with the life He gave you?
Jesus is coming back! Let your heart rest in this truth: "In My Father's house are many rooms, if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going (John 14:2-4)."
