God Will Not Be Mocked
"Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to Your truth. The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster upon us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything that He does; yet we have not obeyed Him (Daniel 9:13-14)."
God is a God of love this is true, but we must never forget that God is also righteous, holy and just. Because of this, no one who continues to live in sin and rebel against Him will be able to escape His wrath. People may think they are getting away with sin because they have not yet seen God's judgment. "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare (2 Peter 3:8-10)." God does not want anyone to die in their sin. He is long-suffering with us, waiting for all who are lost to come to Him.
God however, will not be mocked and He tells us in His word: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows (Galatians 6:7)."
I look at everything that is happening in the world, terror threats, the Supreme Court ruling to make gay marriage legal around the nation, widespread violence and persecution Christians are suffering and it grieves my heart. The time is coming my friend. God will bring about justice. He will not allow this to continue. Now, I don't know when His wrath is coming, but you can be sure that it will come! "Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, 'It is Mine to avenge, I will repay,' and again, 'The Lord will judge His people.' It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:28-31)."
As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we must stand firm and we must always stand up for the truth no matter the consequences. If we don't, then who will? Every book of the Bible has been fulfilled except the book of Revelation and it is right around the corner. Stay in the word so that you are not deceived. Now is the time to be certain that you belong to the Lord. Cry out to Him while you still can. Don't wait until it is too late.
If you are a follower of Christ, you have no need to fear. He keeps you until the day of redemption and will call you home before the great tribulation and all of the horrific plagues and judgments that will take place. "Since you have kept My command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth (Revelation 3:10)." It is also said, "For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath, but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10)."
Everything that is happening around the world is a sign of the times. These are the beginning of birth pains Jesus spoke about (Matthew 24:8). I urge you my friend, to examine yourself to see if you are truly a Christ follower.
It has nothing to do with the church you attend, how often you pray, how many "good" deeds you may do, whether or not you have been baptized or how much scripture you may know. While all of these are good in themselves, none of them can save you. It is only by the blood of Jesus and in His finished work on the cross. It is believing Jesus died for you, taking all your sin, nailing it to the cross and confessing with your mouth He is Lord! He is the way the truth and the life and He is the only way to the Father. It isn't how much you know about Him my friend, rather it is a relationship with Him, one that transforms you from the inside out; a relationship where you are in continual communion with Him. This relationship with Jesus should have precedence over everyone and everything in your life. In fact, nothing should even come close!
Praying for you my friend, that if you don't know Jesus, I mean intimately know Him as Lord and Savior, that today you will cry out to Him and this will be the day you are forever changed and become forever His! Amen!
"For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:12-13)."
