Your Presence Lord

"How great is Your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear You, which You bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in You. In the shelter of Your presence You hide them from the intrigues of men; in Your dwelling You keep them safe from accusing tongues (Psalm 31:19-20)."
In the presence of our Jehovah God, what a blessed place to be. In His presence there is no fear. In His presence there is fullness of joy. In His presence my soul is at rest. In His presence, my heart overflows with thankfulness and is safe and secure. In His presence I am free. It is in His presence that I long to see Him face to face.
I wonder how many of us are seeking after God? I mean really seeking after Him and not being content with where we are at. Now I am not talking about being content in a worldly sense as we certainly should be content with everything that we have. Spiritually speaking though, we who are in Christ, should have a burning desire to know Him more than we already do. The more I grow in Christ, the more I want Him and the more I want to be like Him. I believe David felt this as He cried out to God in the Desert of Judah. "O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You, my body longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory. Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You. I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands (Psalm 63:1-4)."
David said He saw God in the sanctuary. The sanctuary here is a picture of worship. It is not one specific place; it is wherever God is. Worship is essential in seeing God and being in His presence. Worship is our expression of adoration to our King and Master. Worship is when we let go of everything else and focus solely on the Lord Jesus. It is easy to be consumed with the cares of this world. We work to provide for our families, we have responsibilities in the home. We go through trials and tribulations. We suffer sickness, loss and heartache. There are so many things pulling at us to the point we sometimes feel overwhelmed.
But wait my friend, there is hope....come with me to the sanctuary of God. Lay it all down, turn to Him and keep your eyes fixed on Him. The moment you do, your troubles seem to vanish. Everything that had you so troubled seems to fade away....in the sanctuary of the King. You and I were not made to carry the load. "Cast all your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall (Psalm 55:22)." The Lord wants us to trust Him and be secure in the fact that He is going to always take care of us. "Those who know Your name will trust in You, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You (Psalm 9:10)."
It amazes me that the One who made the heavens, the earth and everything in it loves and cares for me more than I could ever imagine and allows me to freely come before the throne day or night. In Christ, we can come boldly to His throne. "Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16)." Jesus removed the barrier of sin that was between us and God. He paid it all with His blood. Sin and death no longer have power over us. God in Christ Jesus removed the veil that was over our eyes and tenderly drew us to Himself. He sought after us in His great mercy and captured our heart. He filled us with His Holy Spirit and made us new; He made us alive in Christ. Praise God we are free; free to worship in spirit and in truth. Praise God-our living hope! It is because of Him we can go through any storm, no matter how severe, and know that it is going to be okay. We can have the peace that passes all understanding in the most difficult and painful circumstances. It is because of Him we have a hope that cannot be shaken. We have an eternal dwelling place-one that will never be destroyed-one where we will see sweet Jesus face to face.
"Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse The throne of God and of he Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. The will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever (Revelation 22:1-5)."
