A New Thing!

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor Me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to My people, My chosen, the people I formed for Myself that they may proclaim My praise (Isaiah 43:18-21)."
2015 marks the beginning of a new year. 2014, and everything that happened in that year is the past, it has gone. God is speaking to you today, at this very moment, and wants you to know that He is doing a new thing! Let go of the past and start fresh. In Christ, you have been given a clean slate. He has wiped away all of your offenses and made you white as snow. He has removed your sin as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). You no longer have to carry the weight. In Christ, you are free and you can be the person He created you to be.
Too often, we get discouraged from the troubles we go through in this life. We sometimes shift our focus to the problem rather than the One who can solve the problem. We carry the burden, rather than release it to our faithful Creator and in doing so, we walk around defeated. But God did not create us to carry the weight of anything. "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you, He will never let the righteous fall (Psalm 55:22)." He is telling us in that verse that if we will give Him our concerns and our troubles, He will sustain us; in other words, He will comfort, help, assist, strengthen and support us. This is a promise my friend, and He will never let us fall. He will carry us through every trial, every heartbreak and ultimately bring us victory.
Instead of focusing on your problems, turn your heart to Jesus. When you do this, your problems may not immediately go away, however, you will experience His peace and comfort in your time of need. As you rest in His presence, you will find everything that you will ever need. He will fill you with His joy unspeakable and settle your heart. So, when you walk through the darkest valley, you have no need to fear. Jesus is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5). God always keeps His promises. "You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed (Joshua 23:14)."
Better days are coming my friend! God has a good plan for your life and He desires for you to walk in it. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)." When doubts flood your mind, rest in God's word. Remind yourself of His truth. Meditate on His word and let it sink deep within your heart. If you do this, when temptation or trouble comes, you will be able to stand. You are an overcomer in Christ Jesus! "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade-kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed (1 Peter 1:3-7)." Praise God we have an inheritance in heaven that will last forever. Praise God that we can be called His children! Praise God that He loved us so much that He sent His one and only son Jesus Christ to suffer and die in our place; He died the death we deserved, but God, so rich in mercy, made a way for us so that we could have a relationship with Him through Christ. And just as Jesus rose again, so will we rise. "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage each other with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)."
Continue to press on my friend! Don't let anything move you. Know without a doubt, that God is working all things together for your good because you love Him and are called according to His purpose. He is doing a new thing. Today is a new day, yesterday is gone. Leave the past behind and choose to walk in the good plan God has for your life. And remember, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9)."
