What God Says, That He Will Do

"I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it." Ezekiel 17:24

"I am God and there is no other; I am God and there is none like Me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. from the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill My purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do." Isaiah 46:9-11

You can be assured, that what God says, He will bring to pass. He is the one constant you can count on in this life. He does not change-He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore (Hebrews 13:8). What does this mean? It means my friend, that you can always count on God to fulfill His purpose and His promises. People will go back on their word at times. They will disappoint you whether they realize it or not. God will never do that. It is impossible for Him to go against His own word but you must know this for yourself. You must know what His word says and hide it in your heart. Don't rely only on what others say, whether it is a pastor, friend, family member or teacher-find out for yourself that God is just, faithful, truth, love, compassionate, gracious, slow to anger and the lover of your soul.
There are false prophets in the world who distort the word of God. "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you (2 Peter 2:1)." If you are not grounded in God's word, you run the risk of believing the lies. Anyone who preaches or speaks something contrary to the Word is deceptive and a liar.
The Bible tells us, "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world (1 John 4:1-3)." So, dear friend, read God's word and meditate on it so that you will not be led astray. Every word of the Bible is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him (Proverbs 30:5). "And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times (Psalm 12:6)."
Cling to Jesus, and know that He is faithful and will never go back on His word. "God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19)." Jesus is the Rock. If you place your trust in anything or anyone else, you will be disappointed. God wants to reveal Himself to you....He is no respecter of persons; what He has done for someone else, He will do for you! He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)."
Set aside some time today to get alone in the presence of the Lord. Confess your sin to Him and ask Him to create in you a clean heart. Ask Him to help you to trust Him more. Ask Him to help you believe that His promises are indeed for you! Ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a mighty way and that He grows your faith along the journey.
