For His Glory

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being." Revelation 4:11      "In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering." Hebrews 2:10      By His mere breath, the Lord God created the heavens, earth and everyone in it. He literally spoke it all into existence. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light'...And God said, 'Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water'...And God said, 'Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let dry ground appear'...And God said, 'Let there be ligh...

What God Says, That He Will Do

"I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it." Ezekiel 17:24      "I am God and there is no other; I am God and there is none like Me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. from the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill My purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do." Isaiah 46:9-11      You can be assured, that what God says, He will bring to pass. He is the one constant you can count on in this life. He does not change-He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore (Hebrews 13:8). What does this mean? It means my friend, that you can always count on God to fulfill His purpose and His promises. People will go back on their word at times. They will disappoint you whether they realize it or not. God will never do that. It is impossible for Him to go agains...

His Power Is Made Perfect In Weakness

"Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:8-9)."      Paul, one of the greatest men of God that ever lived, in my opinion, pleaded with God-prayed earnestly to Him not once, not twice but three times for God to take "it" away. What was God's answer? It was no. But along with the no, He told Paul (as He is also saying to you and to me today) that His grace is sufficient for us.       There are times when we have prayed for something that in our human eyes we expect God to answer yes. However, that is not always the case. Those times God says no, we must remember that He sees the end from the beginning. He is  always loving in His ways. "All of the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of His covenant (Psalm 25:10)." God uses our weaknesses and imperfections t...

Jesus-the Great and Mighty One

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: who, being in very nature God,  did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:5-11)      King Jesus left His throne in glory to fulfill the purpose of His Father; this purpose was to come to earth to die for the all the sin of the world. Jesus is majesty-He is the King of kings, and Lord of lords, and He laid it all down when He hung on the cross. I cannot even begin to imagine the agony Jes...

Lord I Need You

"Hear my prayer O Lord God Almighty; listen to me, O God of Jacob. Look upon our shield O God, look with favor on Your anointed one." Psalm 84:8-9      The desire of my heart is to know the Lord more and more. My prayer is for Him to reveal Himself to me in ways that I have never known. I am not satisfied with where I am at. Now I don't mean I am not satisfied with my Lord and all He has done, I just want to grow deeper in my relationship with Him.       As believers, we should all desire to grow in our Lord until the day we take our last breath. This is a process-a lifelong process, otherwise known as transformation. God continues to change us to make us more like Him. He changes our desires. He changes our habits. He changes the words that come out of our mouths and He changes our lives. "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes...

Wait For Your Answer

"Then he continued, 'Do not be afraid Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come." Daniel 10: 12-14      As we read in those verses, we know that Daniel prayed a specific request to God. We also know that he did not get an answer immediately. What must have gone through Daniel's mind I wonder? In those days of waiting for the answer, did he ever doubt? Did he wonder if God heard his prayer? Did he believe God would answer him? While I don't know the answers to those questions for certain, I do know that Daniel was a man of gre...
