Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy
We have an adversary. He is alive and works non-stop to try to take your joy. His name is satan. God's word tells us he was thrown down from heaven because he wanted to be exalted like the Most High God. satan said in his heart "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." Isaiah 14:13-14. If you read the next few verses, it says "But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit. Those who stare at you, they ponder your fate: "is this the man who shook the earth and make kingdoms tremble, the man who made the world a desert, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home?" Isaiah 14:15-17. satan is a created being so he is not the opposite of God. He can only do what God allows period. When satan appeared before the Lord in the book of Job, he could only do to Job what God gave him permission to do. "The Lord said to satan, "Very well then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life." Job 2:6 satan's mission is to kill, steal and destroy. He may attack your family, your finances, your relationships and your health. He will do anything he can to take your eyes off of Christ. That's why God's word tells us to put our armor on. This armor doesn't just happen to cover us. We have to make the choice to put it on. To immerse ourselves in God's word, to hold on to our hope in Christ, keeping our eyes on Him. Choose to look at God, not your circumstances. Claim the promises that God has given us. We are more than conquerors, no one can snatch us out of God's hand, He will never leave or forsake us, hell was defeated at the cross. satan is a defeated foe! Speak the word out loud. We have victory in Christ. Don't let satan steal the abundant life Jesus came to give you. If God is for you, who can be against you? Some of the ways satan may attack is in your mind with your thoughts. If you think wrong thoughts or if bad thoughts come out of nowhere, it could be an attack on your mind. satan will lie to you and tell you God does not love you or that God could never forgive "that" sin. He may try to make you give up or ask "why am I doing this? no one cares? Now satan does not get all the credit because we fight with our flesh daily. Our flesh wants to do everything we are not supposed to do whether it is buying something you don't need, not doing good for someone else, watching pornography, getting drunk or doing drugs to name a few. We must submit our bodies unto the Lordship of Christ and give Him full control of every area in our lives. He is faithful and when we confess our sins, He will cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. (1 John1:9) Keep your eyes on Christ and know that the work you do for Him is not in vain. He sees you, He loves you and is with you every step of the way. Tell Jesus today how much you need Him and He will help you. Remember, the victory has already been won!
