No Matter What You Are Going Through, God is Good!
Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him; I will surely defend my ways to His face (Job 13:15)."
Most people have heard of Job, a man acquainted with suffering who had a book in the Bible written about his life. He spent many years going through tribulations that caused much heartache. He cries out to the Lord throughout much of this book....He doesn't understand why so many devastating things have happened to him.
He lost his children, he lost his livestock and he lost his servants all within the course of one day. He was later afflicted with horrible skin sores. His wife even encourages him to curse God, give up and die (Job 2:9). I cannot even begin to imagine the grief and heartache he felt. I don't know for sure, but he may have thought that God had abandoned him. At one point Job even cursed the day he was born (Job 3:1).
However, throughout all of the tragedy he endured, he continued to bless the Lord and refused to give in to his circumstances. Job said, "Though He slay me, yet I will hope in Him." Read those words again.....Job realized that God is sovereign and everything that happened to him was divinely decreed or allowed by God for a greater purpose that Job could not yet see. The key was that in spite of all Job was experiencing, he maintained his hope in the Lord. Though he could not understand why it was happening, he trusted the Lord who holds all things together. He could've easily focused on his dreadful circumstances, but he chose to focus on the Lord.
What about you? Are you going through trying circumstances? Are you experiencing heartache? Have you suffered loss? Does it feel as though the pain, the difficulty will never end? Let me encourage you today, that God is not finished writing your story. He promises to bring good out of all you are going through (Romans 8:28).
God is faithful, loving and just. Everything He does is right and true. Though your circumstances aren't good, God is good! You may not understand now why you are suffering, but take heart and know that one day, God will right all wrongs. As His beloved child, one day He will come back for you and take you to be with Him. There will be no more death, no more tears, no more pain and no more sin (Revelation 21:4).
So hold on to the hope you have in Christ, and in the dark times, remember His character...remember how much He loves you and remember how much He cherishes you. "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17)."

Dawn you write beautifully. I should get you to write my sermons. Do you speak publically and share your witness? I know you would touch many
