One Day Those In Christ Shall See His Face!
"When I in righteousness, awake in Heaven I will be fully satisfied for I will see You face to face (Psalm 17:15)."
This world, the people and the things in it, will never truly satisfy the void in each person's heart. God created you and me and put a longing in our heart for eternity that only He can fill. You may try to fill this void with relationships, material things, drugs, alcohol, status or a job. However, all of these will leave you wanting more. Jesus is the only one who satisfies. "Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things (Psalm 107:9)."
The life we live here on earth is only temporary and passes quickly. One thing is certain, we will all face death. The question is, where will you spend eternity? Will it be in heaven with Jesus where there will be no more death, mourning, crying or pain (Revelation 21:4) or in Hell where there will be utter darkness, weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8:12)?" Many people ask why a loving God would send people to Hell? The truth is, God does not send anyone there. Hell was created for satan and his angels (Matthew 25:41). God gives each of us a choice. We either choose life or death or in other words, we choose to follow Christ or reject Him.
God does not want anyone to die in their sin. He waits patiently for us to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). He loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die for us, to take the punishment that we deserved. Jesus took all of our sin, nailing it to the cross, so that in Him we could be free. Free of the guilt, free of sin, free of the shame~forever. By His blood, Jesus made a way to the Father where there was no way. In Christ, you are no longer an enemy of God, but a friend! "For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life (Romans 5:10)!"
The most critical choice you could ever make in life is to come to Christ! Salvation does not have anything to do with being a "good" person, doing religious deeds, or going to church. While these are certainly a by-product of knowing Jesus, none of them will save you.
Salvation depends solely on Jesus and His finished work on the cross. This is a gift from God that has nothing to do with what we may have done or will do. It is faith alone in Christ alone. "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8)." All we must do is simply receive this gift.
Jesus promises for all of those who follow Him, that "they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever (Revelation 22:4-5)."
How marvelous and awesome, that you and I will one day see the face of the One who paid it all! I know this present life is very difficult and at times may also seem unbearable. However, in Christ you and I have a living hope that will never ever fade because we know that this life is not the end! So as you go through dark seasons in your life, remember this is not your home. A better day is coming!
"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what He has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:12-13)."
