To Know Christ

     "We no longer believe just because of what you said, now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world (John 4:42)."
     God sent His one and only Son to earth so that we might have an intimate relationship with Him. Jesus did not die so that you could have religion. He died so that you might come to know Him intimately. He died for you to be reconciled to the Father. He died for every sin you have ever committed or ever will commit. He did what you could never do on your own. He took your place~He took the punishment that you deserved. Jesus did this out of His great love. He seeks you. He pursues you. He calls you and makes you His own. The one thing He asks you to do is to come to Him, follow Him and accept His gift of grace. 
     Many people think that because they go to church, do good works, "believe" in God, serve others or read the Bible that they are going to heaven. While these are all good things in themselves, none of them will save you. Salvation is found in the Lord Jesus Christ and in Him alone. "It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. He is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:10-12)."
     So what does it mean to know Christ? It is having an intimate relationship with Him. To know someone, is to be "familiar with, to perceive directly and to be convinced of." Knowing Jesus is not merely head knowledge, knowing Him is personal. He by His Spirit, guides you into all truth, helps you, speaks to you, convicts you, satisfies your soul, and keeps you. It is a relationship like none other. He loves you more than you could possibly imagine. There is nothing you have done or ever will do that will make Jesus love you less. His love is eternal. Right now, this is what I pray for everyone who reads this blog: "I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:17-19)." 
     Over 2000 years ago God sent the angel Gabriel who appeared to a virgin named Mary and said, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end (Luke 1:30-33)." 
     Because of this our lives are forever changed and there is hope for all humanity! Jesus~ the sinless, spotless Lamb of God who left His throne in glory to come to earth and fulfill His Father's will. He willingly laid down His life and died on the cross. He shed His precious blood for you and for me. He rose again and lives forevermore! But the story doesn't end there.....He is coming back again for His own.  All those who have longed for His appearing, who bear His name, to be with Him and reign forevermore! "Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their Shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes (Revelation 7:16-17)."
     Are you ready my friend? Do you know Him? He. is. coming. back. "To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father-to Him be glory and power forever and ever! Amen. Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was, and who is to come the Almighty (Revelation 1:5-7)."
