Rest in Christ

"Therefore, since the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard it did not combine it with faith (Hebrews 4:1-2)."      This rest God promises His own is knowing that because of the finished work of Christ, we don't need to prove ourselves to anyone or try to do good works to gain God's approval. We simply rest in the fact that Jesus has done it all for us at the cross. It is believing by faith that He took all of our sin and our shame and nailed it to the cross. By His blood, and His blood alone, we are free. God loves us the same regardless of what we "do." I feel somewhere in each of our minds, we tend to think that if we are helping others, reading His word, praying or doing "godly" things, that God loves us more, but that is ...

Jesus Is Coming Back!

"For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. We get caught up in all the busyness of life and tend to think that we have all the time in the world, but the truth is, no one knows when they will take their last breath. "All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16)." This means that each of us has a set number of days that ...

What Will Heaven Be Like?

"Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this. At once I was in the Spirit and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were all dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightening, rumblings and peals of thunder. Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal (Revelation 4:1-6)."      Here in these words from Revelation, we get a glimpse of our Holy and magnificent God on His throne. I believe these words are just a taste of the awesome beauty of His majesty. Many people have misconceptions of heaven and what it will be like bec...
