Only Jesus Can Truly Satisfy

"Praise the Lord O my soul; all my inmost being , praise His holy name. Praise the Lord O my soul, and forget not all His benefits-who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." Psalm 103:1-5
There is no true satisfaction in this life without the One who created you and me. As we read in Ecclesiastes, "A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without Him, who can eat or find enjoyment?" (2:24-25)  You may find temporary satisfaction in certain things of life, but none that will satisfy you as Jesus will.
We were created by God for Him and His glory. It is not until we come to know Christ, that we see everything else we have strived for is nothing more than a loss. Jesus said, "What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet lose his soul?" (Mark 8:36)
For years, I sought to fill a void in my life that only Jesus could fill. I tried to fill the emptiness with food, relationships, alcohol and buying things I did not need just to name a few. Nothing satisfied, in fact, I only kept wanting more and more, but the emptiness in my heart was still there. Until we find the Lord Jesus, we all try to fill that void with something or someone.
God has placed eternity in every person's heart. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) He thought about you before time began and He put you together in your mother's womb! "For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." (Psalm 139:13-16)
The life we live right now is only a vapor or in other words, it passes by so quickly. In the book of James we read, "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." (James 4:14) We tend to take for granted that we are going to see tomorrow, but the truth is, we do not know. With that in mind, we should have more of an eternal mindset. Every thing we do here on earth as a follower of Christ will have an impact on the kingdom. The kingdom will have no end. It is hard for us to wrap our minds around that fact, but God tells us in His word, "we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18) Notice that He tells us to "fix" our eyes on what is unseen or rather, keep them securely in a particular place or position. Our position as a believer is in Christ! No matter what happens to us here, no matter what troubles we experience, they are nothing in comparison to the glory of heaven and being with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Friend, if you do not know Jesus, now is the time! "We must pay more careful attention , therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?" (Hebrews 2:1-3) In this life we have a choice to make. We can choose life or death-it is up to us. Jesus died once for all (Hebrews 7:21), but we have to take the step of faith and believe on Him. We will all face eternity. This eternity will either be in heaven with the Lord or in hell. Please be aware that hell was not created for us....it was created for satan and his demons. Jesus tells us this when He was speaking to His disciples. "Then He will say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matthew 25:41)
I pray that if you don't know Jesus, that right now, you would cry out to Him and tell Him that you need Him. Tell Him you believe He died on the cross for your sins. Tell Him you need Him to save you and cleanse you from all your sins. Tell Him you believe that He is Lord of all and Savior. Jesus promises "whoever believes  in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath is on him." (John 3:36) Jesus says, "I am the bread of life. he who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in Me will never be thirsty." (John 6:35) Jesus is faithful and you can be sure that if you call on Him, He will answer! When He saves you, there is no one that can snatch you out of His hand. (John 10:28).
Remember the words that Jesus spoke, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)
