Power In the Blood
"To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father-to Him be the glory and power for ever and ever! Amen!" Revelation 1:5-6
Jesus Christ came and shed His blood to free you from all your sins~past, present and future. When Jesus was on the cross and said, "it is finished," (John 19:30) this meant that His work was completed-there was nothing else that needed to be done. He paid it all on the cross that day.
There is nothing you have done that His blood will not cover. Jesus freely offered Himself unblemished; without sin. He was the perfect sacrifice to cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God. Hebrews 9:14 For this reason, Jesus is called the mediator of the new covenant that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. Hebrews 9:15 In fact, His word tells us that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. Hebrews 9:22 In other words, if God had not provided us a perfect sacrifice for our sins there would be no forgiveness. There is nothing you and I could ever do on our own to become righteous in the eyes of a Holy God. But God loved us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die in our place. Jesus took all of our sin and nailed it to the cross over 2,000 years ago. It is because of His sacrifice and His alone that we can have access to a righteous, just, and Holy God.
The Lord said in Jeremiah 31:33,
"This is the covenant I will make with them after that time. I will put my laws in their hearts and I will write them on their minds." Then He adds, "for I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more." Jeremiah 31:34
If you are saved, there was a time when you were far from God, but you were brought near through the blood of Christ. He is our peace and has destroyed the barrier that was once between us and God. Ephesians 2:13-14 It is through Jesus and Him alone, that we have access to God. Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
You may ask, why would God do this for me? The answer is found in Ephesians 2:4-8, "But because of His great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."
God is so rich in grace and mercy. His love for us is unending and it never fails.
This grace and mercy is for you! If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He stands ready and waiting for you to come to Him. You don't have to do anything~ except believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and was raised from the dead, and confess with your mouth that He is Lord! This is God's gift of grace to all who will believe! He promises that He will never leave or forsake you and He will seal you with His promised Holy Spirit.
"But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:22-23
"Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of His glory." Ephesians 1:13-14
