The Lord is My Portion

     "Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope. Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. I say to myself, 'The Lord is my portion, therefore I will wait for Him.' The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. (Lamentations 3: 21-26)."      As a follower of Christ, you always have hope. This hope is not based on your circumstances, but based on the God who filled you with His presence the day you were saved. In life, you and I will experience drought. There will be days when we are down. There will be times when we feel as though we cannot take another step. You look around and see all the wickedness in the world. You see evil men prospering and death happening all around us. However, it is in these times, you and I need to remind ourselves of the goodness of God....

The Battle Is Raging

     "He said, Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's. (2 Chronicles 20:15)."      In this passage of scripture, Jahaziel was speaking to the people of Judah and Jerusalem. They were fearful because of the great army of men coming to drive them out of their land. They knew in their own strength they could not defeat all these men who were coming against them. Jahaziel spoke life into them and they had a choice to make. Were they going to believe God is who He says He is? Were they going to take Him at His word? This was definitely a test of their faith. They did not know what was going to happen, but they chose to trust in God to come through for them and let Him fight the battle.      It is the same for you and me today.
